Automated dose dispensing – the right medication at the right time
Medication dispensing, or Anja, is an additional service provided by Kaarti Pharmacy for a fee, in which regularly used tablets and capsules are delivered in pre-divided two-week batches. The medicines are packaged by machine into single-dose bags, each of which clearly states the day and time when the medicine should be taken. The dose dispensing bags make everyday life and taking medicine easier.

Evaluation of drug therapy
Do you suspect that a particular medication may be causing you a potentially serious side effect? When was the last time your medications were checked for interactions? Are you taking multiple medications and dietary supplements?
Medication review is an additional service subject to a fee, in which a pharmacist with expertise reviews the customer's medication (dietary supplements, over-the-counter medicines, prescription medicines) and assesses its suitability, necessity, appropriateness, as well as the financial aspect. Medication review can therefore be thought of as a kind of medication safety check.

You will receive reimbursement for Kela-reimbursable medicines in accordance with the Health Insurance Act directly from Kaartin Apteekki once your annual deductible has been met. In 2026, the initial deductible will be €70.33. The initial deductible does not apply to children and young people. The initial deductible will only apply from the beginning of the year in which the young person turns 19.
Our pharmacy receives up-to-date information electronically from Kela about how much you have paid in initial and annual deductibles and what your reimbursement rights are.
The amount of reimbursement depends on the medicine and the reimbursement rights granted to you. There are three reimbursement categories:
The basic reimbursement is 40% of the price or reference price of the medicine.
The lower special reimbursement is 65% of the price or reference price of the medicine.
The upper special reimbursement is 100% of the price or reference price of the medicine.
However, you will pay a €4.50 copayment for the medicine each time you purchase it.
Once your annual deductible (€636.12 in 2026) has been met, you are entitled to additional compensation. Additional compensation means that for the rest of the year, you will only pay a €2.50 deductible for each reimbursable medicine you purchase.
