A blocked ear can be cleaned at a pharmacy's health center by a nurse performing an ear irrigation. Ear irrigation is a safe and effective procedure that removes excess earwax, or cerumen, from the ear canal.
To achieve good treatment results, our nurses recommend applying earwax softening drops ( e.g., Removax, available at pharmacies) to the ear at least two hours before the procedure, but preferably the night before.
If you are unsure whether ear irrigation is suitable for you, a nurse at the pharmacy's Health Point will assess your situation and advise you on further treatment if necessary.
